What to expect from therapy @ Gramercy

Dr. Llerena provides high-quality, evidence-based counseling and psychotherapy for a wide range of issues. Evidence-based treatments (EBT) include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Dr. Llerena will choose from one of these approaches or a combination of techniques to tailor therapy to fit your needs.

The First Session


Prior to the first session, Dr. Llerena will set up a brief call to obtain information about what you’re hoping to accomplish in therapy and to determine whether you should proceed to schedule a first session. The first session will focus on gathering information, determining your goals for therapy, and reviewing Gramercy’s policies, procedures, and consent forms.

Subsequent Sessions

Depending on your needs, Dr. Llerena may conduct clinical assessments and/or she may ask you to complete forms before the start of each session to track your goals, progress, and symptoms. Therapy is tailored to fit your needs and will likely include the exploration of ways in which your thoughts, emotions, and actions contribute to problems – and on how you can address these problems by thinking or acting a little differently. Therapy is hard work and may involve completing activities (#activate) and experiential exercises.


Dr. Llerena provides counseling and psychotherapy for adults (18+), with a special focus on mental health for young professionals. The EBTs provided by Dr. Llerena are effective for a wide range of issues. Dr. Llerena is currently accepting new clients for in-person and live-video therapy.
